Got a scare 2 days ago. After finishing my blog on Sunday, I went to rest. Realising that I was feeling warm, I measured my temperature. True enough, I was having fever. Everybody got startled in the family. I took paracetamol. My husband placed the cool bandage on my forehead (those that you use for kids when they have fever), and my mother-in-law prepares more "Ling Yang".
The fever continues to hover between 37.3 degree to 38 degree. I felt very lethargic for the whole day. My hubby also said that I was not my usual self, which I felt it too. I really felt lousy, but I kept telling myself that I will fight and win.
Thankfully, the fever subsides by Monday. Although I still feel tired, but at least no more fever. Thank God!
I received a call yesterday from an ex-colleague. Had not touch base with her since I left my ex-company (that's like > 6 years ago). I am guilty of that for not connecting with people. She called me up after she heard about my condition to give me encouragement. Many thanks to all of you out there. As I told a girlfriend of mine, I cannot control whether I can be healthy or not, but I promise to maintain the positive attitude that I will fight and win.
A good friend of us is visiting me today from Shanghai. Really touched by her gesture, and of course to her husband for kindly t-loan her to us for one week.

Hey Ai Bee, be strong, fight on. The fevers will come and go but ur positive attitude will always remain.
Just to share, my mum is a breast cancer survivor, went thru chemo and all..was lethargic..sick ..but told herself..she just has to continue to do what she would normally do and thankfully she managed to get thru it.
Soon after that my dad had brain tumour and it was another tough 6-12 months but we managed to get thru.
Stay positive! I'm confident you'll get thru this and come out of this stronger!
Ai Bee:
Chin up and continue to stay positive. My uncle has his entire body parts cut several times for various forms of cancer two of which were Stage 4. The first surgery happended some 3 years ago and most recently about two months ago. He's about 65 and took everything in stride. The family just took it as another one of those routine checkups and I think the sort of attitude helps to lessen the severity of the matter and helps him heal faster. He's also going through chemo but on those days where he's not on chemo, he eats pretty much everything, drives around and takes short holidays.
Another friend's mother in law was diagnosed with stomach cancer and just like you, was pronounced with shelf live of 6 months at best. It's been two years since and she's on oral treatment regularly but if she doesn't say she's a cancer patient, you can never tell.
So sieze your day and make the most of your life.

Hey Ai Bee,
I've been watching some Video by Richard Bandler on NLP and he told his particiants which one of his previous particpants shared with him. The story went like this:
Her grandfather was diagnosed with terminal Cancer Stage 4 and the doctors told his relatives that he does not have more than a few weeks to live and it would be better for him to go home and spend time with his love ones. They took him home but never told him about his condition.
A few weeks past and he seemed to have gotten better. 1-2 months passed by and he able to go shopping and by the 4th month, he was playing Golf! As they were still paying for the home nurse, they called up the doctor to see if they could send the nurse back.
The doctor had a shock and asked for the grandfather to be brought it. They did a scan and discovered that he had fully recovered. When the doctor spoke to the patient, his reply was..."of course I recovered...you cured me and thats why you sent me home, isn't it?"
Such is the power of belief and the power of the sub-conscious mind. Continue to anchor the belief that you are already cured and your body will heal itself. Coupled with modern medicine, it will be even faster.
GOD BLESS
Adrian
Thinking of you and wishing you all the best....
Hi Ai Bee,
thanks for sharing your blog with us. I've been very concerned but dint dare ask too many questions earlier as we've just got in touch after so many years.
Would pray for you, cheer you on and would also love to help you in any way i could. I've since learnt and experienced quite a fair bit while coping with my dad's diagnosis of 3rd stage nose cancer last Dec. The news hit him slightly before his 61st birthday and he had been very strong to fight it with radiotherapy and chemo despite his age & diabetic condition.
I saw how his determination and perserverance had helped him cope with the pain as well as his speedy recovery. He's done with all his treatment and is recuperating very well. He has even started to join his friends weekly for karaoke again! He continues to go for his regular check-ups at SCC & his chinese oncology doc. Life has returned almost back to normal for him now.
Very happy to know that you've such loving & supportive husband, family & friends. So keep going Ai Bee, you'll succeed!
Regards,
